The HGV testing industry has today undergone a massive and monumental change on the 15th November 2021. It is now possible after completion of a HGV medical & the granting of their provisional by the DVSA and followed by passing the HGV theory test. Candidates no longer have to sit the Category 'C' rigid test. Instead as of today they are able to jump straight into Category 'CE' artic test. The test has also been split into 2 parts:
Part 3a) Off road manoeuvres (reverse & uncouple & recouple)
Part 3b) The on-road drive test.
We at the GTA are currently looking into the process to becoming a DVSA recognised assessment centre to hold & assess the 3a tests at our Doncaster site. Stay tuned for more information on that one.
