Manual Handling

This course will provide learners with the information and training about for organisations to understand more about the risks associated with manual handling, how to undergo a risk assessment and how to ensure appropriate control measures are put into place. This course will follow the requirements of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (MHOR) and providing a practical guide for managing and carrying out healthy and safe manual handing procedures.

Qualification

 

This in-house certificate doesn't expire, however based on industry best practice guidelines, the recommended renewal period for this training is 1 year.

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand what manual handing is.

  • Be able to explain the common causes of injury and the potential long-term damages to health as a result of poor manual handling techniques.

  • Understanding the legal responsibilities and the duties placed upon employers and the employees.

  • Be able to identify manual handling hazards.

  • Understand how to carry out effective manual handling risk assessments.

  • Understand the control measures which can be put into place to reduce the risk of harm.

  • Understand and practice the best way to handle loads to maintain a safe working environment.
